OLD PICTURES FOR SEPIA SCENES

This first photo I call the barn raising. This large gathering of men were all assembled together for some reason and I assume it was to erect the building behind them. The picture below is of my great grandparents new car.I believe the year was 1920
Sepia Scenes is a meme hosted by Mary/the Teach and it offers the opportunity to share with others; beautiful scenes in sepia tones.Just click on the badge on the side bar to view what others have posted in sepia for today

ONE WORD - stroke for one single impression

Stroke
It wasn't a stroke of luck but one of misfortune.
it almost robbed me of my independence
It knocked me off my feet for a while until I learned to walk again.
I used to feel that my movements were graceful, now I feel clumsy and awkward.
I long to run.
In the stroke of a second it froze my fingers above the keyboard making typing and communication difficult, laboured and error filled.
Like the loving stroking of a cat it warmed my heart revealing to me the treasure I have in my loving and supportive family
Perhaps it saved my life alerting me to a serious blockage I had in an artery
Just one word tells it all
stroke

These lines were created in response to the words, one word, which is this week's prompt at One Single Impression. For more poetry on this theme please visit the hosting site. The one word I have chosen is stroke.

Montreal in the Winter

Maybe not "Can you see the forest for the trees?" but "Can you see the city for the trees?"

Hot Air Balloon

For Mellow Yellow Monday ...

On this dark, cold wet winter day, it is fun to think about a wonderful bright sunny summer sky and a hot air balloon ride.

This photo was taken at the Atlantic Balloon Fiesta in Sussex, NB in 2008.
