a hodgepodge of things found

As language changed the replaceable ends came to be called 'nibs', and 'pen holder' reserved for the fancy desk resting place.
sometimes take on my morning walks. Within this huge stand of old Pines and Cedars there are often Chickadees in the high branches that accompany me as I walk along, listening to their cheerful naming song. "chickadee dee dee dee".
Part of this walking trail borders along
a river and one day I saw two young fawn on the opposite shore. They paused in their browsing and watched when they saw me taking their picture.
This shadow of my car, seemingly stretching out to the middle of the field alongside the highway, was taken a couple of years ago when I was returning home on a late December afternoon. I was so delighted with the shadow that was accompanying me as I was driving along that I had stopped the car and had gotten out to take this picture. The strong sun on the horizon was having lots of shadow making fun!




The rain has stopped somewhat now and the sun is starting to find its way through the clouds in places, but for the better part of the day we have been experiencing cloudy skies and rain.
