                                             This little  downstairs room was used as a sitting room.

                                           This large wall bookcase in the kitchen, living room, "Common Room",
                                             was always filled with books.

                                             We had the large window at the peak especially made for that location.

                                          The small half door at the ceiling peak was found discarded in an old barn,                                            and we removed the porcupine chewed lower half before my husband restored it to a useable condition.

The fan shaped insert at the top of the bookcase was carved by my husband.

                                          The closet doors in the master bedroom,

                                             This owl carving was carved by my husband and it
                                             served as a newel post at the bottom of our stairs. I regret having left it behind.

                                          Our upstairs family room. The wood panelling was designed and installed                                              by my husband.

                                          The family room had an open beam construction.

These three mountain peaks were photographed  from Canmore Alberta.  this mountainous grouping is called the Three Sisters.

a yellow mini pen for mellow yellow Monday

My husband is a collector of old fountain pens. Recently he has been cataloging his collection and I have been photographing them for him. Yesterday he showed me this lovely yellow 'mini' pen. as you can see by the measuring grid above it is quite mini. with its cap on , shown above, it measures less than 4 inches in length.
This small pen is a golden pearl' mini (1920's) enduro fountain pen The background fabric seemed perfect to use for these photos having a winter theme of white snowflakes on a yellow sky? making both the season and yellow theme perfect for this posting.
