Black and White Cats: for Monochrome Monday

I seldom, if ever, think to set my camera settings to black and white but when I noticed the beginning of a new meme last week titled, Monochrome Monday, I thought I would give it a try. However, whatever the setting, this cat shown above would remain black and white!
Here is an orange cat shown in black and white, enhanced with the use of a poster edge filter. Neighboring cats often visit my bird feeder area and I shooed them away by taking their pictures.

Thanks to Aileni at Loose Ends for hosting Monochrome Monday. For other photos on this theme please click on the link or on the icon in the side bar.

You will have to have his face on a 'Not Wanted' poster. One of our cats is on e the 'Leaste Wanted' list regards the birds.
Thanks for participating. Have a good week.

He really does not look pleased with you. A very good image. The assorted textures of the grasses frame the predatory cat so very well.

That's a good shot. I have too many black and white cats around me...

Mine is up too.
Odd shot and Monochrome are here.

Isn't it amazing how different and how dramatic photos look in black and white? I recently enjoyed a book from the library about the early Kennedy years. All the photos were in black and white and they were so evocative and striking.

These are not just photos ann, they are art. Beautifully done. Great idea for a prompt suggestion too. I'm going to have to give my camera a whirl on B and W!

Thanks for the inspiration.

Lovely photos. The funny thing is that the second one is instantly recognisable as an orange cat, even in black & white!

You're so right about that. Its a beautiful cat and is easily seen when it is lurking around our bird feeders.

Thank you for your comment.

I really like the black and white theme idea; I find I am comfortable in it. It helps me look at things a bit differently when I am trying to think in black and white. I think you would enjoy this meme.

Funny how that black and white cat refuses to change colors! Cute shots!

Lovely B&W photos, lovely cats :-) My cats watch the bird feeders but seldom try to catch a bird. The birds ignore them most of the time.

I think we can attribute that to their genetic stubborness!
