Old Photo Albums: One Single Impression

tugging at my heartstrings ...

derelict fragments of memories
flutter at my consciousness
and nudge a yearning from within
willing them to surface
temporarily reorganizing the bindings of restraint
that cloud my perceptions
.
These lines were created in response to the words, 'defenses down', which is this week's prompt at One Single Impression. For more poetry on this theme please visit the hosting site.

Very nice expression of looking back in time.

It is good to be reminded that we sometimes defend ourselves against remembering, and what we defend against might some day be lost entirely.

"temporarily reorganising the bindings of restraint" puts it really well... I know that feeling!

Really moving expression about something that we all can relate to. The picture is also very special - the arrangement and composition.

Soemtimes I fight the memories because I don't want to cry. Well done. I like the line about memories fluttering at my consciousness.

"derelict fragments" and "bindings of restraint" - very powerful images you have created here. The verse together with the image create an aura of great personal tragedy. You have woven it well ...

A comfortable looking space and a great time of reminiscing! And, maybe, some re-working.

Very beautiful and so very true about memories and photos in old albums and fragments of past lives.
