reflective thinking
years pass quickly and are gone
if only I had time
years pass quickly and are gone
if only I had time

six decades between
making time, taking the time
building memories

The image and text together are poignant. What a lucky little girl. What a lucky man. Making and taking time are beautiful concepts.
A great reminder of the most important way in which we can make time -- share ourselves.
.. am I suppose to feel this old at sixty?
"building memories" --- yes, like a good repeat, some of these memories can be wonderful.

Well I don't but the added factor of retirement makes for new schedules and agendas, and priorities.
The poems stand alone, but this is indeed a perfect photo to accompany and enhance them!
A very important perspective of time is doubling each moment's value by sharing! Especially loved the power of the last line of "building memories". A delightful pairing of haikus!
beautiful. i like your take on the prompt and photo is just great
"six decades between/making time, taking the time". Such weight in those lines. They made me catch my breath, stop and think.
I agree with Deborah -- the poem is beautiful and evocative on its own, but paired with the photo, extra layers of meaning (and a tiny sliver of humor) add so much richness.
..the roof of memory upon us_every breath a brick-each blink a brush stroke of color-with flesh, blood & bones_
"making time, taking the time"..
building -(each moment of existence)
into memories-the ethereal houses that we live in-
thank u for a picture and poem(s) that search for meanings scattered in "a hodgepodge of things"..
Very evocative! I like the "making time, taking time" part. I think "If only I had time" are such sad words usually, speaking of things we will never do or get done. We waste so much time and then long for more.
Just a perfect combination of words and photo.
The truth in this is palpable and mind-opening...Beautiful and stirring photo.
This universal experience is very artistically expressed here.Taking the time in our culture of busyness is a practice I truly believe in. Thank you for this lovely piece.
I think with the passing of time we are more aware of it`s value.
What a treasure this photo is for the little one.
the image & words are a perfect fit
beautiful.. building memories every blink of the eye... you caught it well in the reflection of water...
