These two, tall water pumps used for refilling steam engines are no longer there, and this photo taken in the early 60's, is a reminder of changing times. However the beauty of a winter sunset prevails throughout the decades. Below, another sunset on a reminder of vintage railroad days, a caboose. Happy Skywatch Friday to all!
.My appreciative thanks to Sandy, Klaus, Ivar, Wren and Fishing Guy for hosting
Sky Watch Friday .

What train-lover (like me) doesn't miss cabooses (cabice?)
Nice pictures and great choice of a SWF!
Beautiful pictures with great colors!
The only cabooses I've see lately have been at museums. Sad, isn't it? Beautiful skies, though!
Great photos whith nice colours.
Wonderful shots.
Some beautiful snaps you showed today. Happy weekend.
There is somethin' about trains... that is one glorious sky.
Now and then shots are neat to see. Thanks for these. What a beautiful place all the time and for all time.
Yesteryear is glorious
Very beautiful color in this photos.
The heady days of steam are unfortunately past. Nice to see at least that we still have lovely colours in the sky.
Hello Ann, lovely photos for SWF. Thanks for sharing them.

great photo and color
Lovely shots - such beautiful colours.
Both lovely! Isn't it nice that as man-made things disappear, nature remains as beautiful as ever?
I love both of your shots...the train was in really cool!
Beautiful pink skies are a favorite of mine and I love the train car.
I love the terrific colors. So interesting how things change with time.
Nice pictures--they really have a mood to them. And to think they were taken when I was just a kid!
Like very slow time-lapse photography. Great skywatches.
Love the colors in the sky in both pics. I think that caboose is a great foreground to the backround.
:-)
Simply beautiful photos full of colourful skies for sky watch friday, thanks for sharing with us all.
Back to the good old 60"s. Gary and I are avid train watchers, and these old water spouts certainly have disappeared from the landscape. The caboose is a thing of the past too, and it's a good thing someone had the forethought to keep many of these around on display. Your picture must have been taken around Christmas. I can see a wreath hanging on the cupola window.
We recently got a DVD from Trains Magazine all about the CN Railway. It is VERY interesting.
Thanks Ann for letting me know about this site. I forget it is here. I'll follow it from now on.
Have a great week-end.

Both of these photos are beauties! Nothing like a winter sunset.
amazing shots! i love sky colors.
I so very much miss cabooses. They were such romantic exclamation points on an already romantic mode of travel. Those flashing little data boxes just aren't the same.
