I never thought of ice on a road as skin before, but after reading your words and seeing the photos, I wonder why! That's a real eye opener!

I confess to having gone to dictionary.com for some help in extending the meaning for this one, and I found a definition that defined skin as 'any integumentary covering', and one such suggestion was 'a skin of ice'.
Having driven down a country road yesterday, and encountering a covering of ice on it, I weighed my choices and turned, but first took some photos of the 'skin' of ice on the road :-) It works!
How unique! I never thought of ice as a form of skin, but indeed it is!
it was icy here today as well. i like your interpretation of 'skin'!

Great - hadn't thought of ice skin on roads and walkways - but I'll remember it! Fine pictures and words!
The thin skin of the ice makes us very sensitive! Beautifully done. Great photos, all.
Hi Ann--
I almost wrote about the skin of ice as it pertains to my dog's paw/skin...but took a slightly different tack.
These are lovely! Icey skin to protect the brittle earth beneath.
I like the thought of ice as a skin.
You gave me another insight into skin. Thanks!
